Foundation help please

I am really looking for a decent foundation; oil free or mainly oil free, something that gives a really dewy, golden glow, and also something that gives a solid look to the skin.

I got one by Benefit a few weeks ago and to be honest I may as well not wear any as the skin on my face looks all 'corned beef' in photos, rather than having the solid, golden glow I was promised the foundation would give.

Thanks in advance

Hmmm... photos are different to real life. Do you want to look lovely in real life, or only in photos? Grin

I love Bobbi Brown, the Skin foundation is great but almost not there; the illuminating one I have been using more recently as it has a bit more coverage but still looks like skin rather than polyfilla.

But in the first place I'd be tempted to go back to Benefit and tell them you're not happy with it and see if they can help, seems a waste to give up on a nearly new product...

Benefit is named Beneshit in this house, I'll never buy another product from them tbh. I'd take it back!

I get a fantastic glow from mineral makeup and it has enough coverage too if I use mineral concealer. But discontinuing liquid foundation and simplifying my skincare has improved my skin so much that I am skipping concealer on most days and just one sheer layer of mineral makeup seems enough. I even venture out barefaced Wink

Colorstay is a good non-oily liquid option but it tended to look flat and matte on me if I didn't use highlighter/Meteorites etc.

Estee Lauder double wear light. Great coverage that lasts all day and looks great. I tried the double wear but it was too much coverage and didn't give me a "glow", the light version is perfect Smile

I like Doublewear Light but had a problem getting a good match colourwise. I'm currently using Clinique Even Better which gives a lovely coverage. They will match your colour and give you 5 days supply in a little pot to try. So you won't waste your money if you don't like it.
