Peacocks Who Knew?

I've just ordered some clothes from Peacocks and they have arrived this morning and they are all lovely, they fit nicely and are all true to their pictures, so no returns!! Which is a first for me Grin

I spent £101 and got 2 tea dresses, a pair of linen trousers, a pair of combat style khaki trousers, an arun cardigan, a cross body satchel type bag, a pair of cage type sandals, (which I love), a denim pencil skirt, a long line tunic/top and a zip hoody type jacket for doing my veggie patch.

Only snipe I have is the 2 tea dresses I bought are a little see through than I like, (no lining), can anyone recommend an underskirt or full body slip please. Preferably cotton.

I have also been lucky in Peacocks.. have you a dressmaker you like who could put some lining in for you? It wouldn't cost a lot.

I don't have a dress maker I know. I might have a mooch on eBay see if they come up trumps.

We have a Peacocks here too. Apart from a tiny New Look they're the only clothes shop, so I tend to use them quite a bit.

I find they're jeans fit and wash really well.

Are the jeans true to size CalmingLava

I must own 30 pairs of jeans and cannot find a pair that are comfortable to wear, I am a size 14-16, so never know what size to order.

Peacocks was bought by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill and many of the shops reopened.

Their jeans are really good, quite high waisted too and slightly generous in size

Are their dresses true to size,? Im a biggish 14 and usually go bugger in the cheaper shops.

I walked past earlier today (we still have a rl store) but everything was very thin, see-through or polyester (or all 3!)

Shop was completely empty too.

Last time I ventured in I thought exactly the same Avril. Vair polyester even if nice colours/designs.

We have a peacocks in town I used to buy DCs stuff from there but they aren't very good quality and don't last more than one child so can't be passed down

Check out M&S Cool Comfort slips, they're great for wearing under non-lined dresses.

I quite like Peacocks too

I live in the arse end of nowhere and Peacocks is one of the few clothes shops we have that don't sell waders so I get quite a few bits from there

Not keen on the kids stuff, our Peacocks is quite small so only has a tiny kids department, and they only seem to stock the stuff that has 'princess' written on the backside with sequins, but the odds and ends I have bought for my girls has lasted fine and washed reall well

Oh, and I find the sizes are a little generous. I usually wear a 10 from places like H&M and New Look, but find an 8 is plenty from Peacocks

And I really really don't care about polyester

Nor me freddiefrog but in all fairness the items I bought didn't have any polyester in them .....

I've been back on an bought 2 pairs of jeans, an underskirt and a pair of wedges and again they all fit lovely and are comfortable.
