Shaping up for summer. Anyone fancy joining me?

I used to be an aerobics instructor and was always very slim and toned, however since having my youngest child nearly 4 years ago I've really let myself go.

I'm probably a size 12 now, which at 5ft 4 isn't big but I'm just so untoned and flabby, and am fed up with disliking my body, so I've decided to really try hard to tone up and get back to a size 8 for the summer.

I've got a cross trainer machine at home so I'm going to use it each day, starting with 20 minutes and building up to longer. I'm also going to do the Davina McCall workout DVD every other day at least, as I've had great results from it in the past.

I'm not dieting as such, but I am cutting right back on bread, and being a bit careful. I am so sick of not liking what I see in the mirror, I'm really determined to look good in a bikini on holiday this year!

I'll join you :)

I am a size 8-10 but not at all toned. Last year I used the Tracey Anderson Mat Workout. It is really hard work but the results are quick to appear.

I need to pay more attention to my diet and reduce alcohol intake. I have no idea how much I weigh, I just rely on how my clothes fit and I'm not enjoying the squeezing into certain items!

I was going to join you, but I fear that being that being on a thread with women who start off on a size 8-12 might not be the right place for me! Good luck, both x

Don't be daft! Being slim doesn't mean you can't be flabby or lack tone. There may be less of me to wobble but wobble it does :o. Part of my issue is that I slimmed down from a size 20 (was an 8 my entire adult life until pregnant with DS1....by month 7 I was wearing size 16 maternity wear :(. ). That was all 12 years ago but my skin has never quite recovered.

Oh, no, not saying you can't be wobbly. But just that toning and losing a good few stone are a bit different. I can tone, but I still need to lose a few stone. Just a different enterprise. One can be done in a month or two, and the other is (ahem) sadly a longer feat.

That's not to say you don't need a thread - just that I need a different one lol!

(I've spent a year as the heaviest woman at boot camp by about 30 lbs - I wouldn't dream of saying any of us were in the wrong place, but I felt a bit fish out of water!)

One of my man problems, as I'm heavier than I used to be/would like to be is the fact that cellulite seems to have appeared everywhere; upper arms, tummy, as well as increasing on my legs and bum.

I'd be happy to stay a 12 if I could get very toned again, but would prefer to get back to an 8 as I have a small frame and I feel it suits me to be that size.

Ok, well I've just done the Davina McCall DVD for the second day running. Going to then have 20 minutes on the cross trainer tonight if I can fit it in.
