my mum would like to get rid of her age spots... what should she do..

Mum and I have just been chatting about Sali hughs top 50.... she was talking about trying the Keromask concealer..... then said she was thinking of some kind of peel/laser treatment to get rid of them..... I know there are creams which claim to get rid of dark spots (which I thought might be a but less expensive) but do they work?
Any advice/recommendations would be greatfuly passed on
