Maternity dress for a Bar Mitzah

milkandribena · 20/01/2013 20:23

Just looked in my wardrobe for my outfit for the Bar mitzah I'm going to in a week. And I have nothing. All of my maternity stuff is either jeans and tops or outfits for work.
I know what I would wear if I wasn't pregnant.

I want to wear a dress I think but am at a complete loss. I have nothing 'nice' maternity wise.

Any ideas?

I have never been to a Bar mitzah, but Asos?

There's a lovely one on Asos- here.

Well, not everyone's taste but I love it.

What's your usual style?

umm usual style?

I like lace and dark colours but then also coloured patterns - dots and things. Normally all my dresses are 1940's and 1950's like in both design and patterns.

I like the pattern but I'm not a bit fan of super tight things.

Bargain navy or red tea dress. Is more sleeve-age required?
Too short? Love the orange
black ok?
Only if you are tiny
peter pan
lace, sleeveless
this could pass for 40s ish

This is a bit more '60s but really pretty www.tiffanyrose.com/maternity/clothing/AUDS.html

Tiffany Rose are rather expensive but you can often find second hand dresses on Ebay that have only been worn a couple of times. The have lots of other lacy styles too.

I bought a couple of nice dresses in the sale at Phase Eight a couple of weeks ago. Not maternity, but quite stretchy. I am 29 weeks and they work pretty well on my size. I have this one, which is quite a 50s bombshell style (and dots), www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/phase-eight/All-Sale/Dottalyn-Dress/201927836 , although it's quite fitted. Seems to be out of stock online but they may have some in store.

Depending on

ohh great thanks

I really like the black skater lace asos one and peter pan one.
I do like the dotty phase8 one as well but just can't face going shopping and trying something on

Thank you. you've helped - off to make a purchase now I think
