And it looks daft. Luckily my hair is long enough to tie back until I can get a hairdresser to tidy it up.

I tried o put some layers in, its even, just too thick and looks fucking stupid.

Did you try the MN haircut? I've been doing it a while now and it's never failed me. Although admittedly my hair is quite fine so don't know if this has any impact?

I done the same stupid move last week and I run to the salon after to fix my diy disaster and I said I want to grow my hair, dont cut it, just fix my mistake, and she done very good job, she just blend the stupid layers in and looks so diffrent.
Stay away from scissors and go to salon! Grin

I trim my own hair! I'm growin it out from a chin length bob which I hated back to bra-strap length and it's just past my shoulders currently. I just comb it all out really straight when it's very wet, hold it tight tight between two fingers and trim off a few millimetres, sticking to the same amount off all round. Then I shape the front graduating up to chin length to give it some shape. I've been doing this since the summer and I've just bought a REALLY expensive hair dryer with no guilt whatsoever since I haven't spent any money on haircuts so it's STILL cheaper (at £75!) than it would have been had I had someone else cutting it. (I might look like the back end of a bus, of course, haha)

I have managed to sort it out! I did a mumsnet haircut sort of thing and it now has proper layers again.

I trim my own fringe all the time and am usually pretty good.
