Capri pants, they aren't for rl are they?

am v tempted by some of the patterned Capris on sale in places like Zara

But in rl, in winter, how can you wear them? As far as I can see they must be teamed with spiky heels and that is not practical for me.

Any suggestions on shoes to wear with Capris that are both comfortable and wouldn't look stupid?

You can wear them with flats (ballet pump type of thing). But possibly only if you are <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=capri+pants+%22audrey+hepburn%22&hl=en&lr=&sa=X&as_qdr=all&biw=1298&bih=712&tbm=isch&prmd=imvnso&tbnid=QiFAvv-K8fMN5M:&imgrefurl=advicesisters.net/fashion/the-capri-pant-thats-finally-made-me-a-fan&docid=HLmvlmgv5bo_uM&imgurl=advicesisters.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/audrey-hepburn-in-capris.jpg&w=324&h=450&ei=GE-aUKqxLKfDiwLg_oCgAQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=868&sig=103636278413101977299&page=1&tbnh=152&tbnw=109&start=0&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0,i:93&tx=67&ty=89" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">Audrey Hepburn.

That is my fear Grimma. I think this may be a fashion best avoided, in winter anyway

Even if not actually AH, I reckon you need to be petite in both directions for capris. And yes to the season...who wants bare cold ankles? Confused

I wear them with black tights and flat shoes in the winter. I only have black ones though, less convinced about patterned (though think they would look good with the right pattern), sometimes with a low kitten heel. i think they look smart for work and a bit different. Also as i cycle i dont have to faff on with bike clips like i would for normal trousers.

I am not petite, classic apple size 14, though i do have good legs with skinny ankles.

Personally i think i look nice, but in reality who knows!!
