Help needed with very thin, curly frizzy NIGHTMARE HAIR - need to stop using GHDs....

I really need some help with my nightmare hair, I just don't know what to do with it?..

To describe my hair:

  • It is very thin, each hair is individually very fine, and overall my hair is very thin.
  • It is naturally curly (loose curls rather than tight curls).
  • It is very frizzy - any rain or humidity = disaster!!
  • It is currently just shorter than shoulder length, and it grows really, really slowly.
  • I have to wash it every other day, or it looks and feels greasy (probably because it's so thin).

Basically it is an absolute nightmare and gets me down as it never looks good. I have been using GHDs to straighten it over the last few years as it is the only way I can get it looking even half decent, but as a result the condition of my hair is getting worse and it has become very fragile and literally started snapping off, despite using heat protection products before straightening. I would love to stop using the GHDs, but I am at a loss as to what I can do with my hair. I would be happy to wear it curly (I often think how nice curly hair looks on other people)??.. if only I could get it in nice curls, rather than just a frizzy mess! I used to be nicer curls when I was younger, but it seems to be getting worse with age (I am in my 30s now).

I get my hair trimmed regularly and let it dry naturally most of the time and I try to only straighten the front bits then tie it back rather than the whole lot, so I do try and look after it as much as possible. I have tired various products (Frizz Ease, Lee Stafford, Elvive, Moroccan Oil) and they all help a little bit?.but I am yet to discover the miracle product I am looking for :o(

Like most people, I am very short of free time (especially in the mornings), so I need a solution that does not take hours to achieve.

I even hate going to hairdressers (which us girls are meant to enjoy), it makes me feel so depressed as it does not look nice even after hairdressers?.

Any tips would be most appreciated.

I have similar hair. Sadly, the best I've managed is to wash it and use a tiny smidge of curl cream. Then I comb it with a very wide toothed comb and let it dry naturally. Looks great when it works, nice loose curls. But it means a lot of mornings with a cold wet head.

Same hair here. Bumble and Bumble curl conscious curl cream is expensive (about £25) but lasts ages and is amazing. Rub through wet hair and let dry naturally.
