Please help with make up for oily skin - primer and blusher (what does primer do?)

I have oily skin, with a good skincare regime.
I use Dermaquest pressed foundation (bought from a skin clinic) which I really like but my blusher on top just doesn't seem to last, I spend most of the day looking so pale. Anyone recommend an effective blusher?
Also primer, don't really know what it does or if it'd be any good for me?
Any recommendations? I don't mind spending a bit more if the product works.
Thanks

Try Benefit's Dr Feelgood. I haven't found anything else that even comes close for taking the shine off.

I don't know about blusher though. My oily area is my t-zone, so that is not a problem I have.

Thanks for that.
Is it a primer? How would I use it?
Sorry - I must sound so dim!

MAC spf 50 prep and prime is great for helping foundation to stay on if you have oily skin. Basically, a primer helps foundation to glide on more smoothly, and if you choose the right one, helps control your oil, and stops your foundation from sliding off your face.

The MAC spf one is well known to be very effective if you have oily skin. Or Murad do an oil control one, or there's YSL matte touch.

Best to use a powder rather than a cream blusher. Nars are the best I've tried, although expensive, they do last.

I still usually touch up all my make up once during the day, and blot the oil with tissue or blotting paper.

I use OC8 mattifying gel as a primer, it is very good but despite it's promise to keep the slick at bay for up to 8 hours it only manages 4 on me but that's still better than anying else I've tried.

I use Lily Lolo blusher (and foundation), it's a mineral powder and very highly pigmented - a little goes a long way - and the colour lasts all day. The rest of my make up slides off by mid afternoon but I still have rosy cheeks lol! Hmm

I like the smashbox primers. It will stop your makeup sliding off your face half way through the day.

Nars blushers are great, cost about £20 but last for ages. Other cheaper but also good blushers are the ones by Bourjois.

Thanks for all your recommendations.
I'm off to try and bag some samples!
