Right ladies I need help. Have asked DH and family and they are all meh about it do need you to answer for me and give me the push (or not) that I need.
I'm 27 mum of 2 with long half way down my back straight hair. I am bored of it. Looking to move jobs soon and want a more mature look and have decided to chop it all off. Not wanting a pixie style but something that will make me look more mature and get a little bit more respect from work people who keep calling me pal and mate (I'm a boss but don't feel it sometimes!)

So..., long winded post but the end question is should I do it? Will I regret it? And any style ideas? Hair booked for 12.30 but if you all say no and I chicken out will just be a trim :(

Do it... I've just had a big fat fringe cut back in, after growing it out 2 years ago.
Dh said I look 10 years younger Blush

No idea about styles though, sorry.
All depends on your face shape etc.

Good luck :)

Yes do it. Do you trust the hairdresser completely? Take plenty of time talking through different styles in magazines with them first. How about getting it cut to shoulder (poss great bob)? Then shorter next time if you want to.

If you have a small head / face don't do it!
Do you look good with the hair scraped back? I look terrible so would never cut my hair very short.
Some people just look better with long hair. You can still change it without going very short.

How about a side sweeping fringe and keep it shoulder length with some layers in? That way you can still tie it up.

I like a change too. I had my hair in a pixie cut for about two years. I've had it long for two years now. I may go short again soon. I like the drama of THE CHANGE. [GRIN]

when i had my hair cut quite short, an American man said to me 'you're only juuuuust attractive enough to pull off short hair, you should grow it'. I was Shock omg. Thanks for that luke warm assessment of my looks.

Oooooh, best of luck! I've just booked a restyle for Monday to have mine all chopped off! Did it last Winter too after a period of big changes. Going through big changes again so going for it!

Well I did it - and I love it!! GrinGrin

It's really short in fact cut to top of hair line at my neck if you know what I mean choppy and layered and just lovely!! I don't look like a out of place ageing teenager I look mature and modern and love it!!!

No doubt feeling will change once I have to do it myself but right now very happy! Grin

Although raining about to do school run and my night out cancelled Angry

Aww that's a shame about your night out. I say keep the sitter and find somewhere else to show off your new do!

Oh congratulations!!!! Well done for going for it. I now feel confident about doing the same on Monday. I want short like yours but as I've fairly thick wavy hair, not sure if it's possible. I want cropped with something I can rub into it in the morning to look funky and younger again!

Well done! I went from super long to a pixie cut three times so far Grin growing it out just now but I'll no doubt get it all lopped off again in the future.
