Pathetic, needy question to all hairdressers...

Will my usual hairdresser (big expensive salon - I go rarely, about 3-4x/year) yell at me/judge me for having coloured my hair with henna?

I am slightly embarrassed to go next week, as they have been colouring/highlighting my hair for years.
None of their business, really, what I do with my hair, I know, but still...

Apart from cheap henna done at home taking away from their business, is there another reason that hairdressers don't like people using henna? I just assume that from a previous conversation I had with my hairdresser.

What do you make of people who colour their own hair - by whatever means?

Hair that's been coloured with henna might react differently to chemicals so perhaps have a chat with your hairdressers and do a test first.

If they judge you, change hairdressers.

I don't make anything of people who colour their own hair, why should I?

Oh, do stay, Inspired Grin.

Apparently a perm won't 'take' on hennaed hair, but I am not intending on having one. Ever.
One of the things I like about henna is how it tames the shrub on my head which doubles as my hair...

I'm a hairdresser but would never judge anyone for dying there own hair, or using henna, it's lovely. Do be careful tho as u can't use a normal hair dye after and some shampoos say not to be used on hair treated with henna:-/ I'm sure ur hairdresser will give u same advice x

Thanks, Laurale31, I knew that I could not use normal hair dye or bleach after henna, and that's fine for the time being.

I am seeing the boss herselft on Tuesday; I am sure she'll be lovely.
I am trying to grow my hair, so hope to get a good transitional hair cut that will suit my fat round face.

So what if they judge you. You have your own reasons for using henna. I use it because I don't want to use chemical dyes with dangerous ingredients. My hairdresser (large city centre salon) doesn't know anything about henna, but usually comments on the great colour and condition of my hair. Great colour/condition because I use henna!

Be out and proud, girl Grin
