I bought a jacket from eBay which is lovely but stinks of cigarette smoke. It's suede. How can I get it out?

TIA.

Dry cleaners? Febreze?

I don't want to use febreeze as it's a really pale grey and would probably mark. Similarly with dry cleaners. I might try hanging it in the garden.

Hang it outside for a day, preferably on a fairly windy one.

Okay, this is definitely a test before you go the whole hog remedy!

Sprinkle it with a bit of bicarbonate of soda, then brush it off with a suede brush.

Or make a pouch out of some fabric remnants and fill with bicarb of soda. Yoiu can out this in pockets and sleaves and it will draw out the smell.

It is annoying when smell is not mentioned; although I suppose a smoker may not notice.

I reckon leave it outside to air whenever you can (obviously need to be careful not to put it in the rain). It might take a while but hopefully will go.
