yes of course. wear what you like and are comfortable in. ok, they don't look great with a fleece top and black ankle boots IMO but that is just me.

I wear boot cut as skinny just look terrible on my legs. Fleece is optional. Wink

I've just bought petite baby bootcuts from DP and they're lovely.

To make things worse I am trying to shop online as jean shopping with my newborn is less than appealing!

I bring the boot cuts out in Spring/Summer for wear with converse or flip flops only

Monsoon bootcuts are good.

I bought some Oasis Scarlet ones recently and they are actually v nice - I got asked several times if I'd lost weight! But wear them with heeled boots(NOT black) and a fitted jacket - not a fleece and trainers. And make sure they are long enough, or even slightly too long even.

I got the boden ones and they are lovely on. If you wear them long enough, they are as flattering if not more so, than skinnies :)

Agree need to be too long. Another vote for Monsoon, I am wearing a pair I got in the sale and was asked twice today if I had lost weight.

I think bootcuts are fine although totally agree re the fleece and mum boots. Better to get them in dark wash and a slim style that does not flare out too drastically from knee just a little bit at the ankle. I am on the search for such a pair but so far have not been able to find on the high st.

Hijacking this to ask if anyone has tried the M&S personalised fit boot cuts - quite tempted by the idea of them but a little bit worried .....

I love Gap sexy boot cut .
they are very fitted to the knee and really flattering worn long.....boot cuts look frumpy if they don't fit your leg properly and are too short.

I have put lots of my clients in the Hobbs Indigo bootleg jeans. They are a fantastic fit on nearly all women and have a decent rise on them so are comfortable. Alternatively, as others have suggested, Scarlett from Oasis, GAP curvy, sexy boot or long and lean or Real Straight - still a bit of room at the ankle! Hope that helps. Oddly the Topshop ones also have a decent rise on them and come in different lengths.

No I find them a bit outdated TBH. I like skinny if I am wearing heels or for a more casual look I go for slim fit they are wider at the bottom but not so much as bootcut. I don't really like Next but they do a good pair of slim fit.

If you find them outdated you're either not wearing them right, not the right sort, or else they don't do anything for your individual busy shape in which case, sure, don't wear them.

This won't apply to everyone.

As I said on the coloured bootcut thread, they do suit my V-body shape, by balancing me out a bit more, especially since I'm tall. I have one pair of bootcuts which are, needless to say very long, and also incredibly flattering. Would be foolish not to wear them just because of someone else's perception of them.

Other than that, I wear straights and avoid skinnies as they do nothing for me.

There are plenty of places to get bootcuts, it's just a matter of sorting the wheat from the chaff.

I have some relaxed boot cut from river island and they are lovely. More flary really and they look great. As others have said stay away from the mumsy jeans and you'll be fine. Generally speaking I think boot cut is flattering.
