Do John Lewis ever have huge sales?? (might be off topic I want a sofa!)

I think this might not be the right place to post this (will stick it Good Housekeeping too), but DH and I have fallen in love with a sofa and chair from John Lewis. The thing is it's really expensive and I was wondering if anyone knows if they have some fabulous sale round Christmas where I could get them a bit cheaper?? Thanks

They have fewer sales than other stores (though they will price match on exact items) - their next one for furnishing will be clearance in jan sales.

They have a clearance sale every year after Christmas.
We got a sofa for £700 rather than £1100 a few years ago, although we just wanted "a sofa", not a specific one.

Thanks, I'm a bit worried that if we leave it they might have sold out, but the two items together are £2500 so it would be very nice to get a few quid off that!

You could ask JL staff, we saw a bed we liked and the salesperson told us when to come in and get it cheaper.

The trouble with JL sales is that most of the furniture is bought in especially & sold as a special purchase. You may be lucky if it's about to be discontinued, but they very rarely do the type of sofa where you can chose your upholstery in the sale as I know only two well

Online, the sale tends to go live after closing time on christmas eve.

Thanks member, yes it's one where you'd choose the upholstery (although we can't decide what fabric and the display ones are lovely, but the chances of snapping them up seem slim...)
