Are you a price snob?

I'm starting to think I am! I tend to overlook the cheapest stuff on, say ASOS, assuming it will be poor quality and therefore a false economy. As a result I have very little in my wardrobe. I don't care about designer labels but I do tend to look at the premium brands. The best scenario for me is this sort of stuff at sale prices.

That said, this really only applies when I'm after something for a special occasion or a rare night out! I can't bear to splash out on work clothes. Should I set my sights a little lower?

I buy basics like vest tops on the cheap from H&M and jeans from TK Maxx or Topshop. That way I can justify expensive shoes and bags.

I think you are right about cheap stuff from asos, it will be poor quality. I find this about New Look stuff so don't shop there. I don't think that makes you a snob, you just need to work out which cheap stuff is good.

I probably am yes, my approach is much like yours, I love the stuff on nap, MW and Matches but it tends to be the lower end of their price scale (Velvet, Zadig, Helmut Lang, Anglomania) rather than the high end designers. I also usually buy it in the sales, unless I know I would be heartbroken if something sold out before being reduced Grin! I probably should be more open minded but part of it is not having time to trawl through the poor quality stuff to find the gems.

On the high street I like whistles, a bit of reiss and All Saints. I really only buy vest tops in H&M and a few bits and pieces in GAP but have to admit I wouldn't wander in to top shop, new look or primark. As a result I do have quite a small wardrobe but I love almost everything in it and lots of things that I took a deep breath before buying have lasted years, such as a couple of DVF dresses, a leather jacket, expensive (not crazy, £500 max) bags, great jeans and knitwear, so I think it's worth it.

I am exactly the same. I can't afford many of the expensive brands at the moment, but yet, I can't get myself to go into H&M or other cheaper shops. When I look in those shops, I hate the quality and cut of every thing. In the high street, I sometimes buy in Karen Millen or Reiss, but otherwise I wait till the sales and buy just a couple of pieces from the lower end of the expensive shops. I keep an eye on NAP every day, in case I spot a bargain.

I tend to buy middle of the range things like Boden, Principles (when it was on its own), Fat Face, Laura Ashley, White stuff , Monsoon and Marks. I find the stuff okay and I tend to hang on to things for a few years'.

I also bought some Geri Weber and Zafiri jeans as the fit was good.

I don't really like Primark or New Look as the quality isn't as good IMO.

I try to buy in the sales and looks at ebay. I am very blessed to have a good discount in a department store which keeps the bills down.
