Bleach highlights then dye? Or will it go pink?

So, another hair related problem - I have a pack of Superdrug Colour Vibrance in Hot Red. I have brown hair, and I wondered if I put some bleach highlights in first, then the red colour, will it give extra intense red where the bleach is? Or will it go pink?

I've had red on my hair before and loved it, but the bleach is a new idea - thanks for your input.
