Bay City Rollers and the tartan edged trews?

Skin tight jeans with legwarmers?

Mini kilts with white tights?

Laura Ashley pie crust collar blouses?

'Dave' from Slade haircut whether you were male or female?

Just been looking back through some friends photo albums.

I had the mini kilt.

I 'rocked'

Blush

I was a bros-ette god help me.

I had stonewashed denim everything, sew on patches, and those awful bottle tops on my shoes.

I was 11 though so a bit of an excuse

Being 23 I can't go that far back but remember about 10 years ago the fab thing that was trouser/skirts. Like a pair of work trousers, middle pleat included with a skirt over the top. I had a baby blue pair. Grin

Yes I used to wear rather fetching stone washed jeans with matching denim jacket and white boots. Dear god, the shame. ( I was 13 at the time).

I had the lace hair ribbon and the eighties perm.

At the end of a very, very long and dimly lit room I looked like Madonna.

Hmm

Ooh yes, skin tight jeans with leg warmers.

White jumpsuit with red jelly shoes and matching red beads.

Blue velvet knickerbockers with white satin shirt and pearls.

Ra-ra skirt with pixie boots.

I dressed like Strawberry Switchblade for a while.

Double denim disasters more than once.

Awful brillo-ish spiral perm which was sprayed solid/crispy.

Oh yes, I was a catch back in the day .....

Beat this 80s disaster:
Day-glo yellow polka dot dress with puff sleeves and Ra-ra skirt!
Mmmmm stylish. With big moussed up massive curly hair.

I was about 9 at the time but still.....Did no one notice how hideous that dress was? Wish I had a picture it's even worse than you can imagine!

hmmm had the tartan .. but with black tights ... does that make it better?
Vividly remember styling my hair with a 'bump' at the front.... ewwww

but the worst worst ever ... I owned a thong with kindof um diamantes at the t- part (that might ride up when you bent over ) ...oh god ..... i thought i was such a siren!

I had a way out Mother.

She actually wanted me to be a 'Goth' because she liked the fashion.

I was the girl in the Laura Ashley pie crust collar and ballet flats with bows on in patent leather

Blush

I also wore a pinafore with a bow on the hem and a broderie anglaise petticoat.

Double Blush

tartan trousers and white frilly shirt a la spandau- same shirt updated with striped knickerbockers later that year when warmer. Also wore a thick aran jumper with a tiny rara skirt and earrings almost down to me waist.

Those were the days...I was slim and gorgeous and wish I realised that at the time

Pinstripe jeans

Pineapple knit sweaters ( mine was White)

White anoraks - have a photo from about 1985, every girl outside scoop in a White or pastel anorak, often sleeves rolled up

Black ribbed tights with White fluffy ankle socks over the top.

I had forgotten the pin striped jeans craze. My friend Liz was a massive culprit.

It was 1986!

Black body (like a leotard - is that the right word??) with belted jeans up to the waist. Very uncomfortable. Also ski-pants. Oh and a green shell suit from the market with yellow and purple bits.

Oh my god! The 'bodies'. They would come 'unpopped' when you were walking along the road and trying to get them done up when you were pissed and in a nightclub............

Also they totally baffled a guy who was inexperienced as to where to begin to 'unpop'. He was hunting around for ever looking for a bra strap. Hmm

those bodies were bloody grim; i used to howk the gussett to one side and pee like that rather than try and do the poppers up when sloshed

I remember a horrible lipstick that I wore from Miss Selfridge. It was a bronzy/goldy metallic shade and dried your lips out the instant you put it on as well as made your teeth look all nice and yellow

I did the guernsey sweater, pokey up collar and string of pearls thing a la Lady Di.

I also did Spandau- oh, the hair! I even had a single, thin plait extending 8" down lower than my collar. I recall my hairdresser begging me to cut it off.

Pin-stripe jeans and legwarmers
Jumpsuit and pixie boots
Pinafore dress - that was a weird one - where did it come from?
White blouse with ruffles down the front with a mini-kilt (I loved mini-kilts, those big safety pin things were such a feature of lives - when was the last time you saw one?)
Huge glasses (that is the main thing I hate about wearing glasses, I think they date you in old photos much more cruelly than the fashion)
Twilight Teaser - was that a lipstick or eyeshadow? I just remember the name.
Teeny tiny LBDs, lots of diamante jewellery, I rocked at our local nightclub age 16!

Happy days the 80s!
