Can you help me find an outfit please?

My oldest, dearest friends is getting married at the end of August. The marriage is taking place is in a very impressive venue and the reception is in a beautiful hotel which is quite....posh.

I am going crossed eyed looking at dresses but can't find one I love and would be comforable in. I'd be very grateful if you could all help me .

My wish list is as follows:

1. Size 18 .
   
2. No halter neck, the world is not ready for me in one of those.
   
3. Price range of up to £50, so not a lot (but might be able to go a bit higher for the perfect outfit).
   
4. It can't be lemon or anything really pale because I will look like death.
   
5. Something that will hide my stomach
   
6. Not short .
   

I'm 35 and 5'6" if that helps at all. Particularly in avoiding the 'mutton dressed as lamb' type of scenario.

My sister bought this

She is a very curvy 16 and she looked stunning in it! It hangs beautifully, and is available in an 18!!! I can't recommend it enough, it skims the bad bits (her stomach) and is unbelievably elegant.

I love both blue dresses but am worried I will look like a sack of potatoes tied in the middle .

What sort of shape are you?

I find that dresses with a bit of shape and structure are far more flattering than baggy ones...

Will keep looking.

I read your original post & was going to suggest the Verity Dress from Phase Eight, but someone has beaten me to it !! I have the verity dress & I adore it. I am 6th, size 16. It hangs beautifully & looks v elegant. I wore it to a black tie do last weekend & got lovely compliments all night
