laser teeth whitening; any success stories or recommendations ...

... please?

I have searched for previous threads and for reviews via Google but I can't find many positive recommendations. Yep, I know, maybe there is a reason for that but surely not all laser teeth whitening treatments or clinics should be avoided.

I'd be grateful for any positive reviews as well as tales of caution.

Thank you.

I did Zoom something-or-other about 5 years ago. It started being painful after a bit so I stopped, however my teeth looked lovely. I have them polished by the hygienist every 6 months or so, as I'm a big tea drinker and they stain.

I've been really happy with mine. They cost me about £400: however that includes extra whitener which I never used, and ended up binning as it had well passed it's use-by date.

Why are you so set on Zoom/laser?
I had my teeth done at dentists with trays/bleach then used at home. My dnetist was against laser treatment but never sure if that was because they didn't have the equipment, or what!
had a friend who had it done and she said was very painful.

At least with trays and gel you can control the amount of sensitivity and use when you need to- with laser it's all done for you and no getting out of it.

Thank you for replying Onemorning. There are some scary reviews for Zoom in particular on the internet so although I do recognise that many people only write a review if they have had a bad experience.

strawberryjelly, I guess I am put off the trays by the thought of having to sleep with them in for a week or more. I don't sleep well as it is! Also dh did this for 10 days and there was hardly any improvement. My teeth are more discoloured than his though so perhaps I would see a better result. The quick one-off fix appeals to me more ...

Thanks again for replying Smile

I had Zoom done. I have a high pain threshold, and I can safely say it was the most horrific pain I have ever experienced!! Getting it done is quite painful but my god, afterwards!!

I had it dOne, was £150 for 2 sessions, then £50 for any subsequent ones. It's fab. I smOke and drink tea so they stain.
I'll go back every 3 months I think
I was delighted with the results, go for it
You can find some good deals if you google

OP I have never slept with the trays in! Dentist said it was my choice.

I use the trays rougly every day for a couple of hours, for about 10 days.
Sometimes I'd use them for 1 hr and then another 1 hr later. That's cos I can't drink or eat with them in!

My teeth were very cream- not due to food or wine but age ( mid 50s)

They came out middle to top end of the shade card after bleaching-they were right at the darkest end before- will never be white but are much better.

That was 18 months back and now i do a top up bleach every now and then using the trays for about 4-5 days . I get some sensitivity sometimes so leave it for a day and then start again.
