Hi
Just found this website www.thebootmakers.com/
(not linking so you can see the actual address)

Has anyone ordered bespoke boots from them? Are they ok? Or are they the Fitted Boot Store by another name (ie will rip me off with bad customer service long delays and crap quality)

Really want a pair of well fitting boots and Duo don't work on me (too short)

You might want to read this before you order from them.

I would only risk it if they take Paypal, which they don't seem to.

The beauty of Paypal is that you are covered, can dispute to a claim if they don't respond to phonecalls or emails, and if they still don't respond, Paypal simply give you your money back then chase it back from them.

Paypal is the only really "safe" way to pay - yes, you will get your money back from your credit card eventually but in the meantime its you making phonecalls and chasing, and you will pay interest in the meantime.

Paypal you simply lodge a dispute and if they don't sort it within a week or so (or at least tell you what is going on) you simply claim your money back.

They don't seem to take Paypal though.

Good point about Paypal - I keep forgetting it's not just for ebay.

So looks like my dream of long fitted boots is still just that.

You could just be very devil don't care about it and test them out by ringing their customer service number and see how long it takes them to pick up. If they are easily contactable, and you have a credit card, you could just say "I am willing to risk having a bit of a hassle and a bit of a wait to have my dream boots in time for Autumn"...lets face it NOW would be the time to order them if their only real problem is turning round orders in time and picking up the phone when things are busy.

You could ring your credit card first and ask them what is their policy and procedure if you make a purchase and it goes wrong.

Then just risk it and see - if you did it that way you'd have a different attitude about it and could probably have quite a pragmatic, practical approach to things if they haven't fulfilled their order by sometime in July/August or whatever....

Ooh you are tempting me now.

I will ring them on Monday and see what my gut tells me.

Will also check my credit card......
