Seeing all those lovely frocks has got me thinking about a wedding I'm going to....

What does everyone think of this for a wedding in the south of France in August? I like the idea of a maxi because I've got quite a lot of scars on my knees but I'm worried maxis make you look pg, so hoping the draping on this one might make it look a bit less like a maternity dress.

It looks awfully- a bit frumpy for France, to my eye. What sort of size/shape/colouring are you?

Can you do red?

maybe not dressy enough

first one much cheaper at net a porter Hmm

strapless bamboo is lovely and cool

floral but no so frumpy

lovely for the small of nork, vey european (IMHO)

nude, strapless, stunning on the right person

Have you ever been to a wedding in France? They turn up looking like they are going down to the supermarket! You will look lovely in that dress.

I think the Warehouse dress is the best of the lot and not frumpy at all!

knofje... thanks for all your suggestions. Sadly can't really get away with strapless, bosom too big. I need a bra. I can't wear nude either, makes me look ill. I can't really get away with any of the ones you linked to. Well, I'm fairly sure I can't anyway. Not that body confident any more. Too old and too flabby :o

dexter I haven't been to a French wedding but lots of my family are French and I've seen wedding photos of theirs and they really don't dress up do they?

I have been to a few weddings in France, including one in Paris, and some people look like they have come straight from doing the gardening. I was really surprised the first time I went to one!
I think the dress you have linked to is really lovely.

Thanks Dexter I must go and try it on next week to see if it's as good on. The bride at the wedding we're going to is English so I'm sure she's got lots of British friends and family going who will dress up. The groom is French.
