...and for the first time, as far as I can remember, they actually all volunteered a hug and a kiss!

this, I feel, is a a major breakthrough.

this week I have noticed little changes in their behaviour towards me both collectively and individually.

dss (7) has been very cuddly, well mannered and in a way thoughtful.

dss (5) actually wanted me to cuddle him and stroke his head at bedtime last night

dss (3) has preferred me to dp over the last two days and we spent a lot of time yesterday, just us, on the couch yesterday laughing and pulling silly faces to each other

seems we have just turned a corner and now they have gone back to mums for a week Sad

it's like each week we have to reestablish the relationship, house rules etc etc

I don't think I did anything different this past week, but for the first time in ages they have gone and I feel pleased with how the past week has gone

a bit of a self indulgent post really, but I just wanted to mark the occasion in some way.

we may actually be alright Smile

I know how difficult it can be making and maintaining relationships with SC, sounds like a positive step forward! Well done and good luck for next weekend Flowers

we have them week on week off, it's no wonder things get tough for the dsc.

what with having alternate weeks where house rules and just general day to day is different.

its a shame because every Sunday when they go back to mums, dp receives a whole barrage of nitpicking messages...Sad

My DSCs Mother is the same, a few weekends ago we all went swimming (their first timeShock) had a brilliant time. Went to drop them home, they had the biggest grins, SO excited to tell her and she nodded and pushed them inside with a face like thunder!!
Some weekends it's like restarting the whole relationship with them all over again and others it's great!
Their Mom has accused my DP of favouritism towards my daughter!! Accused me of shouting at them- which is completely untrue, changes times and days frequently etc.

Personally I think she is jealous and likes to be difficult.

That's awesome Smile Its such a great feeling, those little moments like cuddles on the sofa make all the other not soo great moments bearable.
