My cat punctured my hand last night with her tooth, quite a deep hole and has been very sore and swollen this morning, just knocked the top of the wound off and quite a bit of pus came out, it's bloody sore now but I'll squeeze a bit later and post another pic

I'd see about getting an appointment at OOH for antibiotics. Same thing happened to my friend and it ended up quite seriously infected, they were on the verge of operating to clean the wound out if the antibiotics hadn't shown improvement by the next day.

I don't normally panic about this sort of things but apparently cat bites can be really bad because. They have such sharp little teeth - it's like being injected with a hypodermic full,of germs . I read about a lady who ended up having major surgery after a cat bite when the infection affected her tendons
Please get it checked

Just found this topic so I'm looking through the old posts....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE everyone, never leave a cat bite!

My husband was at risk of death from one earlier this year. The infection went from his hand to shoulder and that was while he was in the hospital on intravenous antibiotics - if it had gone past the shoulder, things may have been very different....

Be careful, sporners Confused

Please get yourself to the gp don't wait for it to fill up again. Cat bites frequently get infected and can then need washing out and the patient ends up on IV AB. so err on the side of caution op. However if there is anymore pus feel free to post a pic Grin
