The team behind Boots and P&G’s TeenTalk initiative have asked us to find parent volunteers who are thinking about or wanting to have "the talk" about becoming a teenager and the changes this brings about with the young person in their household. They'd like volunteers to try out the new TeenTalk tools - helpful conversation starters and topic ideas - and would be available to do so during the week commencing March 27 as well as in early April.

TeenTalk are looking for parents to start frank and relaxed discussions with their teenagers, every day over the course of the week (week commencing March 27) and then to meet up with all of the other participants to discuss how it went. This will be an opportunity to compare your experiences with those of other parents who are doing the same, sharing how you approached the talk and what you learned.

TeenTalk have said: "Last year we found that over two thirds of mums and dads find it awkward to have the "TeenTalk". And the feeling was mutual, with 78% of teens admitting that they find it difficult to broach the subject with their parents. That’s why Boots and P&G have put the TeenTalk Guide together to help guide both parties through this difficult conversation. This year we want to support even more parents and teens, which is where we need your help."

If you want to take part in this week-long experience, including the discussion at the end - which will be caught on film - and help inspire others to have the talk, you’ll be compensated for your time and expenses with £500. You’ll also be sent a tailored product for your teen to test out and review.

You can find the most recent TeenTalk Guide here.

If you’re available to take part during the week commencing March 27, and for the discussion between April 1-8 (exact date TBC), please email the TeenTalk team before March 16. To participate you (as the parent) must be over 25 years old.

If interested or if you want to find out more, please email [email protected] by 16th March. No obligation. Please include name, phone number, ages of children, location and reason for wanting to take part. Please read all T&Cs below

Terms & Conditions
In order to participate you must be 25 or over and have a teenage, or near teenage child (between 9 – 14 for girls, 10 – 13 for boys)
The recruitment phase closes on 16th March 2017. Shortlisted applicants to be forwarded to the final selection stage will be contacted by phone/email by a member of the P&G team
Shortlisted applicants will be required to sign a Consent Form before participating in the final selection stage and confirm their participation and availability for the challenge and filming (exact dates to be agreed at final selection stage, location to be confirmed nearer time).
Shortlisted applicants will be required to participate in a face to face or remote meeting (via phone call) with a member of the P&G team to have a further discussion around their story and how comfortable they feel telling it. The final participants will be selected based on our need to show and discuss a range of experiences.
Successful participants will be contacted by Hill & Knowlton on behalf of P&G.
The selected participants and their teenagers will be required to talk about their TeenTalk experience and the P&G products trialled on diary camera throughout the challenge and with experts on the final day of the challenge, which will also be captured on video. Photographs will also be taken. The video and imagery will be used in digital and print channels supported by paid media and editorial media placements.
The selected participants (parents only) will be compensated with a cash incentive of £500 each for their time. All expenses (for parent and teenager) incurred during filming/ photography will be covered,
The selected participants must be available to take part in the #TeenTalk challenge w/c 27th March and be available for the final end of experiment discussion from the 1st – 8th April. I think it's odd there is a different age range for girls and boys, particularly as they will often be talking relationships etc in PHSE in class.
