Update 14 yo DD with mild SEN, majorly ill 3 months ago and now regressed to state of a toddler.
She's been having a lot of headaches this week. Tuesday complained of headache and Grandma brought her home early. It was supposed to be a treat for her lunch and shopping and quality time with Grandma to be pampered. I gave DD Calpol fast melts and instinct told me to mentally note how many were left in the packet. I placed packet back in cabinet in the downstairs loo.
Next day, DD unusually quiet and slept a lot.
Thursday, complaining of headache again but I told her she would be fine once she had eaten/had a drink. No Calpol given. Later I put clothes away in her bedroom and spotted empty Calpol packet. Both DH and I severely told her off. No excuse she knows never to take medicines as I have epilepsy, our kids have been brought up to know the dangers. Phoned 111 who confirmed at her weight what she had potentially taken was toxic and to go to A&E. DD however only admitted to taking 6 tablets. So after a long evening/night at A&E and 2 blood tests later DH brought DD home. No remorse, she seemed to think it had been great
Friday, more challenging behaviours which we did out best to ignore. So she finished the evening with a finale - squashed mashed potato into the battery compartment of the tv remote.
Oh and she has shate herself twice this week which is grim
Today I've had to wash her hair, it was the only way she would agree to having a shower and hair wash. Last time we saw her CAMHS worker she told DD she was disgraceful that a girl of nearly 15 couldn't wash her own hair properly. I don't think that was helpful tbh
CAMHS recommended a referral to a psychologist and I've managed to get her psychiatrist apt brought forward to Monday.
Her older sister feels she can't live here anymore but doesn't earn enough to be able to move out.
I can't see a time when any of this will be any better. Just needed to write that all down. Thanks for reading.
