SN children

Following on from dd's terrible weekend could it be the neat glass of vimto that set her off?

Just been thinking that on Sunday while i was putting washing away dd drank a whole large glass of neat vimto and had eaten half a pack of jelly.
Now this combination I truly believe affected her loads. I also think it took about 2 days to come out of her system. Is this possible?

I'm no expert, but I would have thought so. Vimto tastes like a sugar and chemical cocktail. And I wonder what proteins are in jelly?

The thing is Blu we very rarely have anything other than Rocks Orgainc juice. Just ran out and could only get to local shops. I def. think it made her go funny. Shall give it a wide berth when shopping in future

BH,thinking about this myself recently.
We have had loads of people here and have been visiting lots recently, during which times dd has been snaffling stuff she never normally eats.

She has been foul the entire time. i know some of it is jealousy (there have been about 5 extra people here each night fgs!) but convinced the bad food has contributed.

(BTW, once worked with a young man with SN who, when I wasn't looking, picked up a litre of squash concentrate and gulped the lot! He then proceeded to act like a scalded cat for the next 2 hours before throwing up violently in the footwell of my car (it never smelt the same again.)

I can laugh now but boy oh boy, pretty hair raising at the time....

moondog - 5 extra people!!!! My goodness.

The story about the suqash omg! I am so sure it set her off as she has been so good since Monday. I know there have been other factors but it must contribute to it.

I was under the impression that red squashes in general had a bad E number in them that was detrimental to kids' behaviour .. will go google

It's the colour AND the preservative in it that sends them loopy loo.My Ds gets homicidal on a glass of diluted vimto never mind neat!Jelly will also have lots of colour in it too.

OMG - Went to farm with mil and whilst I was in the toilet she took ds and dd to get a lolly. I couldn't believe me eyes by the size of it. It was called a Hi5 and had 5 different very bright colours. As you can imagine I was not impressed but could hardly say no once dd had it.
Well within 10 minutes she had changed into a little monster.
It's just so annoying as mil's attitude is like "oh it's such a shame" if dd can't have sweets etc. As I said to her well you can have her tonight now. I am just so angry. She constantly offers her Haribos.
I just feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall. Am going to start a thread about this I think.
