Has anyone been watching Neil Morrisey holding forth about ASD?

I am not sure if this has been discussed but I have seen and heard a few interviews given by Mr Morrisey lately. He is starring in a stage production of Rain main.

He seems to feel himself a bit of an expert on Austism and is doing nothing to further understanding of the issues involved.

On a recent R4 show he and the presenter had a little joke about researching the part. Digging out old episodes of Crossroads so he could study Benny for ideas!

Lots of assertions about what all Autistic people are like and the things they all do.

is it just me?

I don't like him, i find him an a*hole anyway.
So i'm not surprised of his attitude.

No I never like the 'awww arent I a cheeky chappie, you cant get cross with me' schtick of his.

I feel the things he is saying are re-inforcing long held myths about ASD.

He is making statements about what people with Autism are like. Becuase the are all the same of course.

I always saw it as mock 'twattish' behaviour rather that 'cheeky chappie'
Obviously he wasn't acting.
