Soooo embarassed (& proud) by DS2's comment to HT ..........

DS2 is 6 and has dx of ADHD. He was getting a 'pep' talk from his HT yesterday after acting the clown in class most of the day. She asked him if he was being funny to try and make his class mates laugh. 'Yes' was his reply. She then went on to explain that is was not appropriate and that he should feel comfortable in his own skin and not feel that he must behave in this way to get attention. She also mentioned that friends change throughout school until you find true friends with whom you stay mates with. Anyway, DS2 replies ...... "Is that why you had 3 husbands, so that you could decide which one you wanted to stay friends with?" OMG, I nearly crashed my car when he was relaying this to me on the way home - he didn't laugh or flinch and was very matter-a-fact about it. Part of me thought "NO!" you shouldn't have said that and the other half thinks well it's true and it's out the mouth of a babe. Nothing was said to me by anyone when I picked him up .... wonder why?

The point is, the little whatsit has been ear wigging 'mums' chatting and filing it away for the appropriate moment .... classic !

I would love to know what she said.

Are you going to mention it to her?

I would imagine she 'twitched' a lot !! then hurried him along. I would love to mention it to her, but I fear it would fall on deaf ears as she's a bit of an ice maiden.
