It is 04.36 and DD has been awake since 2 am - Grrrrr

Just that really. DD1 has been awake since 2am. The Melatonin, which is fab for bedtime settling, has done diddly squat at 02.47, and I have finally given up trying (was taking turns with DH to try and settle her) and since 03.52 I have been downstairs, listening to the running commentary DD is sharing of Tweenies live, again.

She must have watched this video over 200 times (it is one of her 'things'), yet she still relives it as if it is the first time. In about 2 minutes, we will have meltdown because 'Tweenies gone', when infact, as the other 200+ times, it is simply an interval which is recorded, and lasts all of 30 seconds.

And in the time it took me to type that, the inevitable has happened, and DD is crying "they say goodbye"

Did I mention I am 35 weeks pregnant? DH is going to take over at 05.30 so that I can get a couple of hours before he leaves for work. I worry about him because he drives a lorry/van all day and lugs heavy containers on to it, so if he is too tired I fear he will have an accident. He is so good at getting up in the night to see to DD, but I am still absolutely knackered, and it is another 12½ hours until he gets home from work (you can tell I am desperate, because the count down has started and he doesn't even leave for work for another 3 hours, lol).

Is your dd on normal melatonin or slow release, as if she isnt on slow release already that may help

Poor you Hope you managed to get a few hours sleep before your DH went to work. Will she have a nap later so you can get one as well?

I was thinking of contacting ds2's Paed as his sleep is becoming less and less.

oh lou I am so sorry I can hear the frustration clearly through your post you sound exhausted. I dont know what to say but that I give you full sympathy and you are a real super trouper. A better woman than I, I get positively psychotic with no sleep.

Thank you for the sympathies

jenny dd only started the melatonin 3 weeks ago. It is wonderful stuff! Liquid, not slow release. She has been settling well, and it sometimes works if we give a second dose when she wakes in the night, but last night wild horses wouldn't have made her sleep.

5, DD decided at 05.15 to go back to bed so I did get a couple. She is at preschool now, and will have a nap when she gets back. I just hope DD2 goes as well.

HIDTL, I am already positively psychotic with no sleep, lol. There is no room for more...

Seriously, it was so helpful to vent, knowing that you were all probably tucked up in bed, but pretending that there were real people listening.
