Proud mummy moment alert!!!!!

Had a horrible melt down afternoon yesterday because a man came to read the meter at about 2pm which set DS off all afternoon.

However about 6pm we were playing with his balls (his favourite toys) and I just kept saying Ball as I usually do, over and over, and DS made a noise that sounded a little like ball, and he just kept repeating it.

Even DH thimks it might be 'Ball'. Im so happy!

good for your little man. my ds1 is 2.5 and the last couple of days he has been hiding things and it seems as if he is saying all gone and holding his hands up (probably wrong but at least he is making same sound for same action)

That was the advice we were given by the Prof who dxd DS1 as ASD. He told us to keep saying the words over and over again. He claimed that even if we had to say it a thousand times, in the end , he would repeat the word. We didn't have to go to the 1000 times but constant constant repetition did work wonders for us.

That's great frasersmum, and it also means you can move on to a new word once he really gets ball. I had to repeat words umpteen times for ds1 so know how you feel.

Really recommend getting the Baby Bumblebee vocabulary builder dvd's - they are brilliant for being simple, clear and repetitive and got ds going with all the basic words.
ds2 also has a great book from M&S which has 10 simple pictures with a button to press so that he can hear each word said out loud. He now knows all of them - cat, dog, shoes, ball etc and enjoys pressing the button and then finding the corresponding picture in the book.
