Question about instant falling asleep

A friend of mine has a child who has always fallen asleep instantly at the same time each night and always has done. If they are out and its not possible he often falls asleep where they are. He is now 7 and still like this.

He also shows various signs of having aspergers.

Is this falling asleep thing before the adult virtually as soon as his head hits the pillow a sign of anything or could it be simply habit?
He also gets up at the same time each morning.

my dh has this special skill, asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow, snores like a pig all night and has no need for an alarm clock as he wakes at the same time every morning, annoys the hell out of me as i am an insomniac!!!!
