Any ideas about sleep systems for children with violent seizures?

My son is nearly 3 and has very violent seizures every night. Our OT would like him to have a sleep system to prevent his legs frogging and stop his rib cage from flattening. All the sleep systmes we have looked at so far seem too restrictive and I am worried they may injury him when he has a seizure. Has any body had a similar experience or have any advice?

should have described it better. The base is moulded to fit your child then the air sucked out so it stays in that shape. We tried it with dd on her back and a ridge between her legs to frog her hips but she hates being on her back. Then we tried it on her side with the shape moulded to support her back, room at the front plus a foam wedge between her legs. Once they've made the shape they put a duvet type mattress on top so its like a cosy nest.
We didn't get it in the end cos dd still sleeps in my bed (I just shove a pillow between her legs. Don't tell her physio) but when dd shifts to her own bed I'll use it then. It doesn't have straps or blocks so doesn't hold the child down but would gently contain any violent seizures.
Leckey came round and showed us and let us borrow it. The NHS would have paid for it too.

Thanks for your message. We had the Leckey one on trial but the OT didn't want him to sleep in it over night which in retrospect was complete nonsense! Like you, he is still in our bed at night so not really sure what to do about the whole situation as I am told NHS will probably pay at the moment.
