Just after a bit of advice or experience really,
My 2yr old son still doesn't acknowledge his name he never has he doesn't understand or follow any instructions at all, he won't make any eye contact he uses my hands to tell me what he wants instead of going to the table for a biscuit he will grab my hand an take me to the biscuit for me to give it to him I just put him not talking down to haveing 3 older siblings and there being 6 of us in the house that he was just takeing his time an didn't have much to say I narrate everything with the kids I allways have done so even thought he prefers to listen to my voice.
He has had his hearing tested an it's absolutely fine SALT have said he has difficulties with pre verbal skills of attention listening and play and also interaction and language difficulties she has given us a programme to follow and it is proving difficult as I can't even get his attention to look at me to do half of the stuff she has suggested to do with him. We have a SALT come to the house once a month to see him. She has also made an appointment for him to see one of the community paediatrics team.
I have some serious mum guilt I just thought he would do everything in his own time like the 3 others have he is definitely a lot different to the others when they were little and all children are different an progress at there own rate that's why I was never concerned, now I've had professionals question me about him there's more an more things that point to him haveing special needs but then I think isn't that just normal 2yr old toddler behaviour I don't know am I being naive it's just a lot to take in just looking for some advice or if anyone has been through similar with there child.
