Dyslexia - how to identify and help?

Is it too early at 7 to spot the signs of dyslexia? DD can read fairly well, and enjoys practicing her handwriting but her spelling is "creative" to say the least. She still has some reversals of letters and numbers. I might be tackling this too early, but I let myself be fobbed off about DS' ASD for years and I don't intend to make the same mistake again here. What should I do next at home to help work out if she has a problem? If we think it is worthwhile how do we go about helping her at home? When is a sensible time to consider getting a formal assessment done if this is eventually required?

Go to nessy.com Go to the main menu and select dyslexia screening. Go to free dyslexia questionnaire .

I completed this and printed it and sent it to the school SEND. They then got someone from the local authority to come and do an assessment . My local authority wouldn't do an assessment until year 3.
