I had long chat with a BBC radio journalist today about Herts SEN. I said that my experience (Herts playing the system rather than trying to meet my son's needs) with Herts SEN was not unique – he was scandalised.

He's interested in doing a radio slot about it, but needs some corroboration from others that my plight isn’t unique. If anyone in Herts affected can write him even a few lines about their experience– completely anonymously, you wouldn't have to go on air and he won’t even refer to your experience on air if preferred. It’s just to prove there is an actual problem. I've got the feeling that I’m going to look a bit stupid as it's proving difficult to get parents to back up my claim, even anonymously. I think this a real chance to put some pressure on, so please pm me if you are willing to write him an email or have a quick chat with him.
Thanks
P.S This is just for Herts families. I know the issue is national, but you have to start somewhere.

Put him in touch with IPSEA. They keep numbers on which callers to their helpline come from which LA. Herts was mentioned as a tricky LA on an IPSEA course I went on. Good luck - I think it would be good if this got out. Most people have no idea unless they experience the system for themselves

Sos sen may also be worth contacting. I heard from them too that Herts played the system

Thanks. A few of us were on BBC 3 Counties on Monday giving evidence on their sharp practice. Herts gave a statement in response and what a surprise, they said "we always consult parents" and everything is great here.
