So my ds is in year one and we're going down the road of a diagnosis, possibly autism or the like. He's struggling in school, but is a total trier and will attempt the tasks the teacher sets him.
Anyway, he's been lashing out, scratching and kicking etc. School are being supportive, he does strutured lunches and this has helped massively in reducing the incidents.
I suppose what I'm asking is, how do I teach him to manage those urges? He's not inherently naughty, he has a good heart and is fairly social. But as with all things, he does get frustrated and I just don't want him to become labelled and shunned because of his issues. Any tips?
