The telly packed up last night. It's half term and ds is driving me mad. I've tried to explain to him that it doesn't work but it's beyond him. I've tried distracting him but he just keeps giving me the remote controls (have hidden them now because he got in a temper and started throwing them round the room - he's looking everywhere). I've taken him out for a walk but I'm a bit stuck because the car is in for repair.

Am starting to regret my insistence on no tv in bedrooms. Think I'll get one for his birthday .

I'm lucky really then, ds doesn't do screaming so it's silent protest only, except when he starts throwing his sister's things about and then I know all about it!

Hurrah!, I'm saved! Or at least I will be in about 6 hrs time (if I last that long). Dh has just phoned to say he's persuaded a work colleague to give him a lift home tonight so that he can go to Curry's and buy a tv. Didn't bank on this on top of car repair so we will be broke now but this is an emergency. I think Dh has been spurred into action by the fact that the new series of Life on Mars starts tonight, rather than to save my sanity, but I'm not arguing .

Glad your TV problems are solved,
DS2 has spent most of the day/week sooo grumpy. I think due the change in routine & no playschool.
Today he kept headbanging the floor because Thomas kept falling off the track, he only stopped when he was sick, I think it suprised him more than us.

Thanks Mymatemax. Harmony is restored! Makes ds sound like a right little tv addict. He was ok until he realised he couldn't have it on then he just wouldn't let it go. I think he thought I was doing it on purpose and he was sobbing in the end .

It is a 'routine' thing, because he watched the new tv for a few minutes (clutching the remote to his chest) and then went off to bed quite happily once he had seen it working. It's the dvds he likes really, playing the same bits over and over. I've learnt to ignore it now or it would drive me bonkers!

Sorry your ds2 is finding the holidays difficult. Trouble is, they just get used to it and it's time to go back to school!
