Not a whitewash as feared, they are panned on lots of issues.

After being completely blanked by them over the awfulness of my EHCP they produced, it was nice to see this line.
'A review is currently underway to check on the quality of current EHCPs'

I wish Ofsted would be a bit more robust, though. When it talks about them failing to carry out assessments on converting statements to EHCPs, what it is saying is that they are breaking the law: that isn't just a quality issue, and should in effect mean that they have failed the inspection.

So true, I have just been in correspondence with someone from the Dep of Education SEN team and I have asked whether there will be a more punitive approach towards those involved given that many of the failures are a result of bad faith rather than a lack of training.

How can we as parents ensure our views are heard when our area is inspected?

I've just been thinking, isn't having all EHCPs reviewed from outsied in a county quite a big deal. I'm just wondering whether it's going to slip under the radar when in fact it is quite a media story about the loss of confidence in the authority.

BuffySENsational We were contacted via school.
