DD is nearly 4 and recently has been having issues with constipation and diarrhoea (sp?)
Basically she doesn't poo for a day or two and then when she does, there is a hard poo followed by a very liquid poo - presumably it's liquid as been backed up behind the hard poo. Sorry for TMI. The liquid follow up poo has caused her to soil pants a few times recently - she doesn't get to the loo fast enough - and also poo in her night time nappy.
She has very mild cerebral palsy with weak core muscles and has always been on the slow end in pooing terms but it was generally fine while she was in nappies or on the potty - maybe because of the squat position? This issue has really started since we changed to using the loo.
Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions other than going back to the potty (she really doesn't want to)? She eats plenty of fruit and veg and drinks water already. Thank you.
