friend had a stressful annual review today - her son at out of county residential school, shes a single mum and at the review there were 6 members of school staff and 4 people from my lovely LA so was quite a hard meeting for her.

met her at 7ish tonight and we decided to go for a pub meal to chat over what happened today - I saw her before the meeting and she was in a bit of a state.

we walked in the pub, for some reason I was carrying her sons paperwork under my arm for us to chat about and as we walked in the bloody LA sen team were all sat in the blinking pub! of all the pubs in my county, yep tonight they were there.

my friend is a strong character and well you all know what the LA think about me so their faces were a picture when we walked in together - my friend went straight over to 'chat ' to them as a few of them had been at her meeting that day - I definitely did not have a warm welcome. we did the pleasantries and retreated to eat.

it could only happen to me - a rare meal out and had to sit there being watched by my lovely LA.

Well I hope you ruined their works night out. They were probably settling in to have a good gossip about how they have a totally unreasonable parent who is appealing refusal to assess.

you know what's really funny - my friend thinks one of the LA woman is great - ive warned her to tread carefully as this is the woman who lied to my face and was exposed when the tribunal issued an order and she had to own up to lying last year when we were fighting for my son - the way she could easily lie to my face is what worries me and my friend sees her as a 'friend' and tells her allsorts which I know is going to blow up one day. anyway friend told me that this sen officer is herself fighting her own LA to get her daughter statemented for dyslexia - its all so quite ironic.

I was nothing but happy and cheerful again last night - usually when that happens a little 'visit' usually follows and it is Thursday today which seems to be a favourite day for them to pop round

You should of told them they could always buy you a drink instead of banging on your front door lol!

Honestly when all this is over I think you should chronicle recent events - it'd be a best seller!

I reckon they planned it. They have someone paid specifically to monitor your comings and goings and they have access to your diary.

I really hope this person is fighting the next-door LA for a statement.
No harm to experience it from the other side.

And the case officer having to deal with her Grin

Would bet she's lying though... it would be statistically very unlikely for all the carrots telling me about their SEN struggles (or their dc 'who were just like ds') to actually have been through it

I doubt she could do the SEN thing, be a carer, run an appeal, hold down a full time job and still be able to go out socialising.

Erm..I think she could. I don't work in SEN but I do work FT in public sector, my DD is on cusp of ASD diagnosis and I am gearing up for battle with my LA (who I also work for Confused) - and I do occasionally get out to socialise. It is possible!

Shock or maybe now they think they are being followed... Grin

Constant... You'll need this [tea] and a Cake Grin

FT job and fighting is hard enough, but surely it's impossible to be a fully-functioning SEN carrot at the same time

Not saying you're a carrot!
And I meant the bunny-carrot gifs, not the later ones, before anyone starts worrying about my state of mind Confused
