Hi,

Could anyone please tell me if they know of any Independent Schools within a reasonable distance to Southgate - North London.

My DS has been diagnosed with severe specific speech and language difficulties and although Blossom House school would be the ideal school for him to attend the journey there and back would take over 2 hours and I do not feel that my son DS would be able to cope with such a journey.

If I am able to locate a school a bit closer to home where there is a high level of speech and language incorporated into the pupils daily learning I would be happy to consider such a school.

Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Would you consider moving?

Seems to be a forced decision for many of us.

Thank you all very much for your replies.

I think Abingdon House is going to be my best option as Hillingdon Manor is still quite a distance from home but does sound like a very good school.

In response to StarlightMcKenzie's question it will not be possible for us to move at this present point in time, however I completely respect and understand the reasons of those of you who have had to.

Abingdon House is fairly close to home and they support children who have speech and language difficulties so will definitely be looking in to this school.

Many thanks to you all once again.

We did have a look at Russet House when we were in Winchmore Hill. Also Bowes school has a good resource base.

Whichever school you pick, if they seem to know about these people, it suggests they're probably keeping up with the latest research.
