Hi all
My DS has been diagnosed with ASD. He has other physical disabilities such as poor eyesight (not blind) and hypermobility. Both cause him to trip and fall a lot, and the hypermobility means he gets tired quickly and will simply lie on the floor in the middle of the supermarket refusing to move. He's too big to carry and now refuses to use the buggy as these are for babies (his words). I have in the past applied for a BB, but been denied. Now that I have the diagnosis for ASD I hoped it might make the council take me more seriously, but that's not the case. I have received a letter from the council saying they want my DS to come in for a walking assessment which i am sure will not be in a busy shop with lots of obstacles, noises etc in the way and that they will deny us a BB which will help us
My DS is hyperactive, he doesn't listen, will run off etc and has on several occasions run into the road. I know that there are other cases out there more needy of a BB, but I do feel we need one too.
Does anyone have any advice on how to approach the council please?
