Hi all

I'm starting this thread so I can write and then lurk as too much typing causes too much pain. I am having my rib removed next Friday so I definitely won't be lurking Grin

Just back from school where I met DS's lovely lovely teacher for Y2. She actually treated me as if I might know my son and have some ideas of what might help him in the classroom Shock We talked about play therapy, what to do at playtime as he has no friends and just wanders, chill out zone to e ale to run and jump, how to help in the class room etc etc. She is my dream teacher for DS. I am so so happy that I don't feel that I have to fight with the school :)

Then realised that due to my drug-filled brain I had left my keys on the kitchen table. This led to my 75 year old neighbour climbing through a 1st floor window up a really high ladder to get me in Grin

Hope you all have had some good moments this week in between some of the problems that I have been reading about ...............

yr school sounds fab, am so pleased! Grin. Yr neighbour sounds lovely too, Grin.

well, first week (mornings) has gone well, ds is now managing to walk down the slope to me holding his TA's hand Grin altho he gets confused at the bottom and can't seem to understand it is then ok to come to me, so we have tears at pick up each day. Sad

He has loved his nudi-forn and his school shoes, (fab!) and altho he now is a knackered and 'fragile' Wink little man he has coped really well. He is happy about 'big school' and his TA seems lovely.

The possibility of the PGCE is getting more likely, so that's good too. All in all a good week at chez sign.

Have been thinking about those who are having crappy weeks tho... Sad

Hi all.

First week back at school went well. DS has settled well and everyone can notice an improvement in him - I'm so pleased. And so relaxed! It feels so good.

Only slight blip was they didn't know what reading level DD was on so they sent her home with Level 1 books. Way to motivate her......

Now I'm scared what level books they'll put her on when they do hear her read... But need to face that next week.

Got a private OT booked in for DS. He's going to visit DS at school so that DS thinks it's school that organised it not me. Hoping she can actually do something for his handwriting.....

Phew!! I have completed my first week of Grandma duties and settled Dd3 back into school. She has gone in easily the last 2 days due to being desperate to get away from Dgd.Grin.

They are not great together and things have been very awkward at home.

Dd2 has completed a weeks work experience at our local outdoor pursuits centre. She has been kayaking and sailing with young people with various disabilties, she has really enjoyed it and been challenged along the way.

Oh and we finished the DISCO assessment at CAMHS and now have to wait until the 26th for the results.

God no wonder I am knackered.Grin.

Hellooooooooo Grin

Having a rib removed - bloody hell. Isnt that torture?

Had my second day back in work this week, first day with my boss. Told him what was going on at home and he sent me straight home. Occ health called today and asked me more questions and said they will put in a report saying I am unfit for work at the mo. crikey. its a massive relief though. I was having massive panic attacks just trying to dress for work. Going to ask shrink to sign me off for a bit when I see him on monday.

I'm still pondering. Applications for uni open in November but a scitt is advertising for april start.

I need out of the drudgery and shifts now. My MH is shot still, I care too much and it's dragging me under Angry which is a bugger because I'm pretty good at what I do (judged on how well I get on with my Dudes) also the money is shit

Hi all - sounds like most everyone is getting through the first week of school okay. DS2 has been adapting to year one pretty well - same TAs throughout the day and one of his job-sharing teachers is the same, so huge help in his adjustment. He's been exhausted at the end of the day, and seems more ready to meltdown lately (most likely due to exhaustion), but he does seem pleased to be back in school.

He's developed an interesting habit of stomping his foot and emphasising every word he shouts when he is angry about something. Very hard to keep a straight face. I've perfected raising one eyebrow for these occasions. He's not quite sure how to react when I just wait for him to wind down. Grin

Stupid GP gave DH wrong instructions for his meds. He finally agreed to talk to GP about it, and now is taking it correctly. (have I mentioned that this GP is useless?!?!?!) There has been a fair bit of improvement, although certainly much room for more. Now we need to see him feeling well enough to return to work, and (as per doctor's orders) on dayshift. Thank the good lord - he just was not coping well with nights.

Happy Friday! Off to find some Wine as I have a whole tin of quality street sitting next to me. Grin Christmas choccies already in store... gotta love it!

Ooh huge progress for signling Grin

Ooh, another positive, I've had two customers for trousers and one was so happy they ordered more - so a small person will be comfy in his uniform on his first day Yay!

We're just waiting this week - waiting for DLA result letter (Told on Tuesday they were finalising it and that we'd hear in the next week or so), waiting for pre-botox assessment (They phoned yesterday and this morning, but when DH phoned this afternoon they no longer had her notes as she has an appointment on Monday!), waiting for new paed appt after she cancelled on Monday this week.

So waiting, waiting, waiting. Glad lots of first weeks have gone well. And good luck Ben10 - rib removal sounds awful!

Hello. Just popping in to say despite the most shit week imaginable (barring bereavement) I'm still here, still surviving and still interested in all your news.

Told the boys about the separation this evening, DS2 just said, "Are you divorced, where's your wedding ring, will you be EllenJane Maiden Name? Grin Then said "bye" to dickhead and settled down to watch some Doctor Who. DS1 and DS3 not so happy, but not as bad as I had thought.

First problem, a ginormous spider the size of a saucer in their bedroom, had to knock up a neighbour who was in his dressing gown! How the neighbours will talk! Grin

Ellen {{squidge}} and Wine I saw your thread but didn't have anything useful to say, not having experienced any of it

Sounds like SIL's ex-bastard. They couldn't work out why DNiece was in meltdown every day at about 6pm, then he left and it stopped...

Ellen - that was probably one of the worst parts for you, talking to the DCs about what was going on. I hope with your H out of the house now, you can relax and have some less stressful days without him around.

4 year friendship ended in spectacular fashion last night :(

Then the silly girl starts sending my mum of all people nasty facebook messages. Glad to be out of the friendship tbh as she's barely spoken to me for 2 months...

zz that's fantastic!

Lolli, what a nasty malicious person. Just imagine her in 20 years time, alone and friendless and found 3 weeks later half eaten by mangy cats...

purple, scary thing is, she's only 19 now, which I suppose explains some things...

Still, I'm now off to Manchester (my favourite city) tomorrow to see another good friend and take some pictures for her :) Yay! :)
