hi all at dd2 last app with paed he said was going to refer to another paed to rule out autism/aspergers - she's 23 months. Anyway got letter today and it says " appointment will last about an hour. Your child will be asked to do some developmental tasks and may have a medical exam. You will be asked about your child's history and milestones".

Does anyone know what exactly they will do with dd at this app we have already had a Bayley scales assessment done at same place this app is being held but with a different person. Just wonder will be much of the same?? Never been referred to someone specifically for her behaviours before.
Also should I make a list of her early milestones and behaviours??
She will be tearing her hair out after 15 mins never mind an hour!

It was fairly painless for us. Yes, list her milestones and all your concerns again. The medical exam consisted of weighing and measuring him and listening to his chest IIRC! The 'tests' were games and if she won't cooperate that's another behaviour they can observe. Can you take another adult, your DH or someone to play with DD or take her for a walk if necessary?

Ellen is right on the med check. All they did with DS was feel his tummy, listen to his heart, weigh him and measure his height.

He is older so the pead gave him pencil case and asked him if he wanted to draw while we talked. He didnt but just asked questions about the contents of the case Grin Then he was asked to write his name and then she drew 4 shapes and asked him to copy them underneath.

Milestones asked were, when walking, when talking, toilet trained, anything you noticed from baby that concerned you.

Thanks guys dH will have dd1 so thought it best to take her by myself else it will be chaos with dd1 and dd2 there! I've found her baby book with all her milestones in so that's ok. Just have to wait and see I guess
