To start Year 2 in September and as hes been out of school 6months a specialist behaviour teacher will be doing a home visit to help with strategies for re integrating him and hopefully doing some play/work with him to get him back into the learning frame of mind.
Im pleased all happened in the last few months, diagnosis, statement and now got the school place.
They are aware there will be huge problems with getting my son to attend but they will be setting up a programme to build up his attendance gradually.
I have been sort of preparing my son but hes so anti school so i had to tell a little white lie when i came back from the meeting, told him he had been chosen by the head out of 10 boys to go to the school as hes the special one. He actually smiled!! He had met the head and really liked him. He hardly ever smiles, especially not about school. The EP had given me a little comic school sort of book which asked him to write down (not that he writes) 3 things he liked about school. He said i only like one thing................"going home"
