Ds is on some trips this week - we didn't let him go on a longer residential trip as were sure that Head would send him home after first day. Long story but big problems with school at moment and when we formally complained they blatantly lied so we can no longer trust them.
Ds has BESD (possible Aspergers/ASD) and does have trouble following instructions and processing information which they know.Have been told today that he didn't follow instructions when asked several times and as it is a Health and Safety issue have given a warning that they may exclude him from further trips. I stated that he would be more excitable than usual and they should bear that in mind but presumed that allowances would be made for his SN. They have said that where Health & Safety is concerned it is irrelevant if he has SN or not and must follow instructions the same as everyone else. Is this correct? He is not running in roads or anything like that and he wouldn't run off either as he is nervous in strange places. His LSA is attending the trips too.
