Both the girls are in one room and its getting harder to manage them both in there. DD1 has to go to bed in our bed as DD2 is a PITA at getitng to sleep. DD2 wakes daily between 3-5am.
DD1 likes things in place and tidy and DD2 throws everything and is a whirl wind child. she is also still in nappies and find ourselves cleaning beds at ungodly hours.

I asked local council about "facilisties grant" (cant spell) they called today and said they will not take a referal from anyone other than SS.

I have called them and explained the situation but suddenly thinking IM going to have some sw ringing me and telling me I dont need seperate bedrooms but need better parenting!!

Don't panic. Social Services aren't necessarily out to get you.

Would it be possible to have a tv in your bedroom (if you don't already) and use part of the living room as a bedroom for one of your DDs? Or put a curtain/barrier up to divide the bedroom in two?

You are doing your best for your girls. Social Services may also be able to help you with respite care if you want it...

trust me, my house is tiny and tbh my girls are too young to be sleeping downstairs. The bedrooms in this 2 bedroom arent huge and thy have the biggest room. The stupid thing is this house could have easily been a 3 bedroom but decided instead to out the stairs in wrong place Hmm

Grr, that sucks :(

Do you own or rent? You can use websites like findaproperty.com to look at the price difference between a 2 and 3 bed house owned or rented, might give you an idea of whether you can afford to move (if you haven't done this already)

You have my empathy - sympathy can be found between shit and syphilis in your friendly local dictionary Wink

If i remember correctly social services have occupational therapists who do assessments.for facilities grants and it's not the same getting a social worker iyswim. One came out to.see our house - we were asking about a stairlift - totally ignored what we said and came up with a really crackpot idea. We politely declined and have not had further dealings so i don't think you a need to worry about getting stuck.with them.

Why don't you get a sofabed and give the girls a bedroom each?

Put a baby monitor upstairs if you're worried you won't hear them. Although if the house is tiny then I'm sure you'd hear them anyway.

TBH, i dont think sleeping us down here will be good for anyone as DD2 wakes so early one brings her down here to give the other rest and with DH being unwell I would hate for him to get sicker.
I guess if it gets really bad we will just have to move DD2 back into out room, but its not going to work forever.

We physically cannot move, I have given up my job to care for DDs and when DH got cancer 19 months ago debts built up and we are justing sorting them out now. :(

Were on council waiting list and they tried to get me to agree to a 3 bed ds1 16 , ds13 ,dd almost 8, ds3 I said. Ds3 disturb dd as ge is very bad sleeper ditto with older 2 plus big age gap ds3 nearer 2 years lot of ways

They was like well you could have soda bed yourself in the lounge ,been there done that and IRS fecking miserable told them no way will I take a 3 bed want a4

they might well get Ot round but there be no grant forms done without a sw looking at options talking to you and they will need to confirm that there's a real need and sadly with budget cuts they have set the bar even higher
