Avoidant SENCO

I've name changed for this. I find myself in a ridiculous situation with my DD's SENCO. I believed she had submitted an important referral form for DD late last year but it was only me chasing up the hospital to find where my DD is on the waiting list, that I discover they have not received the form so vital months have been lost.

I've tried to contact the SENCO about 4 times over the last fortnight but she's ignoring me. What shall I do?

Initially I had an open mind and wasn't interested in who was to blame, I just want the form to be received by the hospital and for my DD to get added to the waiting list, however due to her reaction I'm now beginning to wonder if I'm being deliberately ignored and I'm getting really annoyed now. This is my child's life and she is currently suffering.

Any ideas on how to effectively deal with an avoidant SENCO?

Could you put your request in an email with a (realistic) timeframe to respond and copy in the head? If you still don't get a response go directly to the head teacher.

Yes email the SENCO, copying in the Head.

"Dear Useless SENCO
I have emailed you /left messages 4 times for you over the last fortnight. I urgently wish to discuss my DD'S hospital referral with you. Please contact me as soon as possible before the end of the week."
