Does anyone work with PMLD?

Hi,
I've just accepted a job offer to work at a school where the majority of pupils have PMLD.
I have experience in other SEN areas such as Attachment Disorders, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia..etc but little in PMLD.
I do have a nephew with PMLD (CP) and so have some on a personal level but we don't see each other very often.

I have had several great recommendations about working here from friends and friends of friends who say it's a great place to work and when I had my interview they said they were willing to give me training in areas needed.
I just wondered if anyone could give me advice for my first day?
I understand that these pupils will need to build up trust in me first and I don't want to dive in head first to spoil that.
I also understand that each individual will have a different personality and different needs, so I think that it will take time to get to know each of them on a personal level.
Where do I start and how is the best way to start achieving this?

I did a year with under 5's pmld. I absolutely loved it and would go back to it in a heartbeat if it was an option.
I found that it's a lot more about personal care and the education that takes place is very simple, lovely to see them progress but often you have to look for and value those baby steps and not expect giant leaps.
