I want to move my son from mainstream to special school

My son is autistic and I requested, through his annual review, that he be moved from his current mainstream school to a special school in another borough. The borough turned down my request and said he should stay in mainstream as they can cater for him. Is it worth appealing???

Yes it is, but you need to gather lots of evidence. Go to here for really good advice about Tribunals and building a case to get them to reconsider.

Thanks for your reply. I have met with the borough today and they are going to take my case back to the panel but have advised me to gather as much evidence as possible. Fingers crossed as tribunal would be a real pain!

No problem. Seriously though the Special Needs Children board gets a lot more traffic, and there are loads of people who have been through this themselves and will be more than happy to advise you.
